Each year, we witness a growing number of students applying to BS/MD programs. With U.S. medical school acceptance rates remaining low and the admissions process becoming increasingly time-consuming, the benefits of the BS/MD pathway are clearer than ever. While these programs have always been competitive, the stakes are rising with each application cycle.

 

For top-tier BS/MD programs, such as Brown University’s PLME, the 2022-2023 admissions cycle saw over 4,192 applicants, but only 74 seats were available, resulting in a mere 1.8% acceptance rate.

 

Drexel University’s BA/MD program faces similar odds, with 2,705 applicants each year but only 60 spots for acceptance.

 

The Baylor2 Medical Track Program accepts just six students annually into its prestigious BS/MD program.
